The biggest discussion has been whether Stamford should not only ban plastic but also require that stores charge for paper bags.
One morning I join Amaze and Lady Skeet to take in a new spot on the HipCo landscape. The Innovation Campus, perched on a hill at the western edge of Central Monrovia, is the pleasant half-acre Liberian home of the Accountability Lab, a Washington, D.C.-based nongovernmental organization that aims to give young people in poor countries – among them Liberia, Nepal and Pakistan – a creative voice, so they can hold leaders’ feet to the fire. Funded in part by the U.S. Agency for International Development, the iCampus is home to killer WiFi, a filmmaking studio that produces a TV show called "Integrity Idol" and – to Amaze’s delight – a $12,000 recording studio.
“Beer generally gets a bum rap as the most caloric alcoholic beverage compared to wine and spirits,” Calagione tells GBH. “I think consumers believe the only way you can enjoy low-calorie beer is if it’s also a low-in-flavor-profile beer.”
“The earliest incarnation of the business plan was for a legit wine bar,” Anderson says. “But as I would be pitching the idea, you could see people’s faces change. I was having so many conversations where I found myself explaining to people that my wine bar wasn’t going to be the typical wine bar. Then I said I’m going to be smarter about this. Let me just call it a bar—that has 25 wines by the glass.”
I didn’t forget Joe Williams. Even according to Grant, Williams had round 2 or maybe even round 1 talent so the 49ers took a 4th round flyer on him. I have no issue with taking a 4th round risk when the player has a major upside to him. I personally wouldn’t draft a player who quit on his team (which is why I’m not in favor of drafting Nick Bosa) but they took the chance. It’s better than taking chances on injured players. I was referencing the first 3 picks of the Lynch/Shanahan era all seem to be bad decisions. Solomon Thomas, Reuben Foster, Ahkello Witherspoon – all defensive players playing poorly. 49ers have drafted Trent Taylor, Kittle, McGlinchey, Pettis, Richie James – they all have talent and have contributed. I’d even put CJ Beathard in there because I think he will be a serviceable backup. The defensive side has had much less success. The only guy who looks like a decent player is Fred Warner. Witherspoon looks like he’s gifted athletically but he’s not a good football player. There’s nothing about him I even remotely like. He needs a complete overhaul to his game including changing his piss poor mental approach to the game.
The answer to that depends on whether you view letting the legal system run its course as giving Foster a second chance or as something that reduced the amount of leniency available to him. However, both answers still do not justify your slanderous statement, regardless of what one you choose.
It would be like trying to do ballistics with a gun if every time the suspect shoots somebody, he swaps out the barrel for a new one.
For The Hollywood Reporter, critic David Rooney wrote that, saddled as the film is with astronomical expectations given the dearth of Asian-fronted films at the U.S. multiplex, the film is "a thoroughly captivating exploration of the rarefied question of whether true love can conquer head-spinning wealth."
Think of this fun pet tech gadget as a Fitbit for your four-legged friend. In addition to being able to track your pet nationwide through GPS, this collar device tracks their daily activity and rest to keep them in great shape for their age, weight and breed. You can set up email, app or text notifications for when your furry pal gets too far away from home so you can always make sure they’re safe.
For a time, hard seltzer was jokingly described as the second coming of hard soda. The clear, flavored, alcoholic sparkling waters were marketed specifically for their low number of calories and carbohydrates, as well as their natural ingredients. While hard soda collapsed under its own sugary weight (there are an estimated 340 calories per serving of Not Your Father’s Root Beer) and dependence on nostalgia, hard seltzer became an almost $500-million category. Michelob Ultra speaks for itself, but all of a sudden copycat brands started to appear, whether line extensions of Ultra itself or direct competitors like Corona Premier, which clocks in at 90 calories, 2.6 carbs, and sold nearly as much volume in IRI-tracked stores as Lagunitas. Even Massachusetts’ Night Shift Brewing decided to take on Ultra and Bud Light with Nite Lite, a 120-calorie Light Lager.
