After analyzing 12 different categories ranging from energy and water use to their potential to increase greenhouse gases, the researchers found that a reusable shopping bag had to be taken on as many as 34 shopping trips to equal the environmental impact of one plastic bag that was subsequently reused. Meanwhile, most shoppers used a reusable bag only three times before discarding it–which wasn’t enough to overcome the greater environmental impact of its manufacture and shipment.

Bad. Everyone on the team needs to be evaluated. I am still a strong supporter of KS, but he needs to be evaluated and he needs to accept the results of that evaluation and improve. Not many people can fairly evaluate themselves, so I hope there are others (his father perhaps and maybe even JL) who provide him with an honest evaluation.

We begin today with another dose of BREAKING NEWS that unfortunately will probably still be big news to you — even though it happened days ago.
A great alternative is to build your own C-beams out of existing boxes. As pictured, the sides of the flattened box are folded up to form a C-shaped cross section. To stop them unfolding, tape is used as a tension brace to hold the beam in shape. In my most recent build, these are then combined with vertical pillars to make a peaked roof with a beautiful high ceiling. By creating rigid beams out of otherwise floppy cardboard, you have the capability to build far more daring and resilient structures – your creativity really is the limit here.
It’s no surprise that Liberia’s slang is tethered to American culture. Liberia has always been tethered. In the early 1800s, a white-dominated group called the American Colonisation Society conceived of a country for freed slaves, which became Liberia. Whites appointed by the ACS governed Liberia for the nation’s first 25 years and named the capital after President James Monroe. In 1980, a 28-year-old barely educated soldier, Samuel Doe, took over Liberia in a violent coup – and stayed in power largely because he was a reliable Cold War ally for the United States. Doe eschewed the Soviet Union and welcomed the U.S. military to train in Liberia’s ports. In turn, the United States gave Liberia $500 million in aid or loans – more per capita than any other country in sub-Saharan Africa – between 1980 and 1985. (Nevermind that Doe once had 13 of his political foes executed on a public beach.)
